Yesterday started kind of rough. It was rainy, the store was slow, and I was working an eleven hour shift stuck with my thoughts. Finally, somewhere around lunch time I snapped back into reality. Thank goodness because complaining and depressed did not look good on me.
After work I decided I'd get a lil tipsy at the recording session, and I think it helped. I guess I'll really know once I hear all the recordings when I'm sober. We did some work on "Take A Dook" and then we decided to lay down some freestyle work. I was in a good mood and feeling the new beats, so why not!?! For "MYmilkshake" I get angry about the shake machine being down for cleaning and it goes on from there. Then there's "4dollar Wine" the little gem that got stuck in my head all night. Both songs required no writing, minimal mixing, and no retakes (although we did a few extra on the angry one, you'll see why). We just rolled with what came out. I channeled the likes of Cyndi Lauper as I sang my 80's inspired song about inexpensive wine. I love being fancy on a budget!
Please check it out and let me know what you think!
P.S. Aldi wine is where it's at these days!
